For healthy cast iron cooking, you must season your cast iron pans well. It is advisable to coat the interior and exterior of the pan with vegetable oil before heating it in the oven for at least one hour. You may do this several times before using. This allows the pans to become stick-resistant; otherwise, it might rust every time it is washed. When cleaning, this has to be washed with detergent and must not be scrubbed in order not to ruin the seasoning.

A sizzling drop of water on the pan indicates that one can start cooking. Usually, medium heat is needed for optimal cooking standards. These pans may also be used on the stovetop or inside the oven. Cooking with cast iron also adds a little bit of flavour to your food because of the iron, which is not bad. But it is advised against use for deep-frying because it can hasten the oxidation of fat, causing it to be rancid. Other than that, you have nothing else to worry about with this kind of cooking. whats the best way to clean the cast iron supports and cooking rings on a cooker?

I have just got a new cooker and despite cleaning after use the burners are already marked. How do I clean these and avoid them becoming marked?

A cooker or grill is not going to stay pristine looking. If you want that look, then you won’t be using it. We first use a wire or nylon grill brush to remove the larger particles from grilling. I can then remove the racks and wash them. As long as it’s clean I don’t care how marked it is… I bought mine to cook on not be a showpiece.
